Ten "Pumpkin Spice" Items Found in Stores:

Let me start out by saying I am not a fan of pumpkin. Whether in drinks, pies, whatever I just can't seem to enjoy the taste of pumpkin. I'll hear friends all year long begging for Starbucks to bring back the "Pumpkin Spice Latte" and I wonder why! I'm happy with a Javachip Frapp or just waiting until after Thanksgiving and drinking gallons of their Peppermint Hot Cocoa/Mocha. But, yesterday when my husband and I went to the store we saw more Pumpkin Spice items than we could count and I figured, well, my readers must love it! So here are some of the items we found to help you in your Pumpkin Spice quest!

Keebler Fudge Stripes Cookies in Pumpkin Spice Flavor

By the time we saw these I'd already seen four or five other items in Kroger, so I just cried out "You can't get away from it!". I don't know if these are just pumpkin flavor with a spiced icing, or if they're chocolate pumpkin, or what! I'm assuming the former, because I don't think chocolate pumpkin would taste very good. Definitely a limited time kind of thing and if your kids are really into pumpkin spice I'd say get these for a great snack or dessert in their lunch box.

Pumpkin Spice Twinkies

Ever been to the State Fair of Texas? Our state is known for making the most bizarre fried concoctions and as soon as I saw this in stores I thought of this being something fried from the fair. Twinkies are already a strange thing to eat but taste great. Why mess with perfection? Anyone willing to try a Pumpkin Spice Twinkie? I'm sure it'll have the same sponge-like texture for the cake, and the same whipped center but...will pumpkin mix with the cream?

Hostess Pumpkin Spice Cup Cakes

This was right next to the twinkies so was not hard to miss. Now this may actually be good because I'm sure the cake is a pumpkin spiced cake and then the icing is just well..."icing on the cake". I will never try them, but I have to admit these are the least confusing out of the whole bunch and you know your kids will adore them.

Eggo Pumpkin Spiced Waffles

I can't...I can't fathom this. I think of a nice, yummy buttermilk waffle when I buy my Eggo's. If someone made this for me then expected me to say "Leggo my Eggo!" they'd be highly disappointed. Isn't Pumpkin Spice already a bit strong? Let's just top that with a crap load of syrup while we're at it! For the obsessors out there who adore Pumpkin Spice now you can have your waffle and coffee at the same time and go to work so Pumpkin hyped you can't breathe the rest of the day!

Shedd's Spread Country Crock Pumpkin Spice Butter

Don't forget the Pumpkin Spice butter to go with your Pumpkin Spice Eggo! Well, this may come in handy for baking and things like that. Maybe it would help with the flavoring of cookies made from scratch!

Extra: Pumpkin Spice Sugarfree Gum

Saw this one and had to laugh a bit. You go to Starbucks and pick up a Pumpkin Spice Latte, you eat your Pumpkin Spice Eggo with Pumpkin Spice Butter. You munch on a Pumpkin Spice Twinkie and then...realize you don't have a tooth brush. So! You reach for your Pumpkin Spice gum! The body will suddenly start to believe it's turning into a pumpkin at midnight! What happens when you chew gum on an empty stomach? It growls after about 15 minutes and you become starving because the body can't understand why food is not entering the stomach although you are chewing. So what are you going to grab next?

Jif Whips: Whipped Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Pie Spice Spread

A yummy Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter Sandwich! Yep, even the classic PB&J has been changed to PB&PS. Sounds like the unique end to a letter doesn't it? Not much to say here, except that I do love Jif Whips so this is one flavor I'll avoid. Oh, and yes, before you ask, you can happily wash down your PB&PS sandwich with...

Silk: Pumpkin Spice "Milk"

You can wash it down with a glass of yummy Pumpkin Spice Silk! Not exactly milk, but works just as well and yes it has your delicious Pumpkin Spice flavor in it. Only thing we're missing now is a good beer and a Pumpkin Spice steak. Well, I can't get you the steak you'd have to season that on your own (though I'm sure Texas Land & Cattle will probably pick up this idea by next season). But:

Blue Moon "Harvest Moon: Pumpkin Ale

This might be the only thing on the list I'd touch. Only recently did I start drinking beer and actually enjoying it. At Kroger, you can get a six pack of beers for $9.99 and each are a different flavor that you can pick off their shelf. My husband and I will do three each and I do like Blue Moon. So I'm sure this tastes great even if it is Pumpkin flavor. As always, drink responsibly.

Brach's Pumpkin Spice Candy Corn

I saved the "best one for last" because I have a friend who loves Candy Corn. She loves to post on Facebook in our Halloween group about it and I used to eat it so much I can't stand it. We saw this in the store and I immediately thought of her. Candy Corn is extremely sweet as it is nothing but sugar. To add Pumpkin Spice flavor to it can go either really sweet, or just change the texture and flavor completely. Are you willing to try it?
