Delysia Chocolatier -- Truffles & Bark Review & Giveaway:

Have you ever played the PC/Mobile game "Chocolatier"? Yes, I was an addict of the game and all of its sequels. I loved being able to make new flavors of chocolate and seeing the world's cravings rise and fall with those flavors. Finding true Chocolatiers in the world makes it even more sweet and I am lucky enough to get to try some truly delicious chocolate from a true Chocolatier.

Local to Texas (Austin), these handcrafted truffles and chocolates are delicious and many include Texas ingredients that you just won't find anywhere else. I was given the Lavender Bark, S'Mores Bark, Italian Collection Truffles, Texas Collection Truffles, and Childhood Collection Truffles. The packaging was extremely adorable, and made you feel like you were opening a precious gift with each package. I even re-used the ribbons in my daughter's hair that day for some adorable braids. Each box contains three rows of truffles, with three truffles for each flavor making a total of 12 truffles per box. There is also a unique image that you find before you see the beautifully marked truffles that makes you just kind of sit back and let out a calming sigh. I'm not sure if it's the black and white coloring to the image, if it's the image itself that hits your heart just right, or what but I really think the image is a perfect accent.  The barks are large, and thick which makes for even more yummy flavor.

The first set I tried was the Texas collection along with my four year old. We each would eat half of a truffle and then later my husband tried some. We figured out one thing during this: Eating them in halves doesn't give you as much of an impact of flavor as if you ate the entire truffle in one bite. At first I was telling him "I don't really taste any difference between all these truffles" and then I ate one in full. Oh man, the Prickly Pear truffle that is in Texas collection is incredible! The sweetness of the pear along with the chocolate just makes you go "Mmm". I also loved the honey a lot as well. The Lavender is more mild in flavor, but the bark gives you more of the lavender so I'd definitely go for the bark!

(Note: These are from the Childhood Collection)

The Childhood Collection is really cute and comes with Peanut Butter & Jelly, Ice Cream, and S'Mores. The Peanut Butter & Jelly definitely tastes like Peanut. In fact I don't remember tasting anything but chocolate and peanut butter. But seeing as it doesn't taste like a Reese's there has to be a jelly component mixing perfectly in there. The S'mores is sweet, and has crushed graham cracker so the texture is awesome. The Ice Cream was good but I didn't taste much of a difference (though my daughter says that was her favorite out of the box.)

The Italian Collection I can tell is truly a unique and acquired taste. The first of the three my daughter and I tried was I believe the Amaretto, and it was strong. Very strong, so much in fact we stopped eating chocolate for a while that day. It was strong in the sense that if you love Amaretto flavorings you will LOVE these. The Tiramisu was delicious I had to stop myself from eating all three and the Biscotti was crispy/crunchy with pieces of biscotti in the truffle.

Delysia Chocolatier is currently showcasing their Easter Chocolates for at least the next week, and then they will be revealing their Mother's Day Truffle Collection. I received my package of chocolates within a day, so I can tell you that purchasing these for someone as a gift will be not only a delicious delight, but you will get them in swift time ensuring there is no worry about not coming in time for a holiday or special occasion. Also, the Childhood Collection truffles are perfect for a Child's Easter basket! They are the perfect blend of chocolate and childhood memory flavors so make sure to get some for your little ones. Everyday now my daughter is asking if she can do a chore or clean something just so she can get another truffle so I can tell you these are incredible!
