Rice N Simple Review

I am huge into rice. As a teenager I loved making a bowl of white rice and just pouring duck sauce/sweet & sour sauce on it. Yes, I was strange. I've found myself using rice as a side with many different dishes such as Cheesy Salsa chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, and much more. Rice n Simple are pre-cooked single portions of Jasmine brown or white rice that only takes one minute to cook in the microwave. Here is my review.

First thought I had when this box came in the mail was "WOW!" it was long, and heavy! It came with three types of white rice and two boxes of each: Cooked Shoyu Jasmine Rice, Cooked Teriyaki Jasmine Rice, and Cooked Shiitake Mushroom Jasmine Rice. The rice on the boxes look delicious, fluffy, and very appetizing. The weight is pretty good for each one as well.

We tried the Shiitake Mushroom rice, and right away after it cooked when you stirred with a fork you saw the fluffiness of the rice. It tasted great too, not a lot of mushroom flavor just enough to give you a hint. "Better than instant rice" my husband said, and he wasn't sure about the Jasmine flavor of the rice but it just tasted clean and refreshing so maybe that's what it meant. For one person if you're looking for a quick snack this is more than enough, or a great side or base to a good meal as well.

All in all I have to say this is a great box to receive in the mail if you love rice but don't want instant nor have the time to make rice from scratch. The flavors are subtle, not overpowering at all, and when you want something quick for a base for a meal this should definitely be your "Go-to".
