The "Winter Blues" isn't just a mood—it’s a biological deficit.
If you want to know why you’re suddenly catching every virus that walks past you, look at the ground. During the winter, the Earth's tilt places the sun at a lower angle. This means the sun’s rays have to travel through more of the atmosphere to reach you, effectively filtering out the UVB rays needed for your body to synthesize Vitamin D.
The Shadow Test: Stand outside at noon. If your shadow is longer and taller than you are, you are likely making zero Vitamin D. When the sun is at that low of an angle, the atmosphere is too thick for those specific UV rays to penetrate.
Vitamin D is a powerhouse for the immune system. When our levels drop in the winter, our "shields" go down, which is why kids and adults get sick more often. Since the sun isn't doing the job right now, you need to be looking into quality Vitamin D3 supplements to fill the gap.
Stop begging the sun for help and take a supplement. Your immune system will thank you.

My Weight-Loss Journey: How I've been doing it!

So I was told I should lay out what I've done to lose weight in the last year, and I figured I'd go ahead and tell! I mean it may not work for everyone but if it helps ya'll go for it! These are just some of the things I've been doing, because without health insurance I can't see a nutritionist, get weight loss surgery, etc.

If you are like me, and you've spent your adult life gaining weight you always feel like you are just not capable of losing it. I was 114 pounds in 2002. By 2006 I had ballooned up to 210 pounds. I went to Curves and I dropped to 170 when I met my now husband. Unfortunately, between having my daughter and medical issues I'm currently much higher than that. So when I saw how hard Whitney Way Thore worked out on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, I decided to give her workout program a try! They were giving away 1 month free in April so I jumped on it!

When I started blogging almost two years ago, there was one thing in my mind: Oh my gosh! She is getting so much free stuff! I want that!! Then I started blogging and was right and left getting free items and in return I had to review them. Very quickly did I realize something that I think many don't realize: Blogging is not just a hobby, it's a job!
