No BS Active: Working out & Working Hard Review:

Whitney Way Thore on Other People's 'Fat Phobia' at the Gym ...

If you are like me, and you've spent your adult life gaining weight you always feel like you are just not capable of losing it. I was 114 pounds in 2002. By 2006 I had ballooned up to 210 pounds. I went to Curves and I dropped to 170 when I met my now husband. Unfortunately, between having my daughter and medical issues I'm currently much higher than that. So when I saw how hard Whitney Way Thore worked out on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, I decided to give her workout program a try! They were giving away 1 month free in April so I jumped on it!

At first, I'll be honest I was skeptical just as I'm sure many others are. I mean just how "modified" can you go right? If it's modified too much, then you really can't get much of a workout right? But I started and, I have to say, holy cow! In your videos, you get the option of doing Ryan's side which is the full-out, hardcore, bust your butt workout to the point you want to drop and collapse, or you get Whitney's side and believe me if you're like me...you still want to drop and collapse! Oh my gosh my first workout was I believe only supposed to be arm or leg day. Yeah right, that was full on entire body ready to yell especially when it was time to hold myself on the wall!

So this was near the end of that workout, and although I do have a 3 minute video showing the entire workout on fast forward, I won't do that. I mean it'd be too easy for anyone to just take the video and figure out how to slow it down and BOOM that'd get out there so I won't do that. But this video shows you how Ryan had us just going nuts with the punches. I felt it too, I felt it for a couple of days after! I felt so accomplished after this work out by the way!

NoBs Active works with five days on, two days off. I won't say which days like I said I won't give out a lot of details that I know they want to be detailed in their own way. But I will say that as long as you can do all 5 days there's a huge sense of accomplishment. On top of that, Ryan began showing recipes in the group (His way of cooking a steak was such an eye opener!) to help you eat right and offered a lot of suggestions.

Another thing I thoroughly loved about this program is the support of not only Whitney and Ryan, but the others also working out! You become part of this amazing community and I was so sad when I had to be removed (that's below). But being in the group was great! I posted the video above and expected critiques/criticism, or something else but no instead Ryan actually commented on it telling me how well I'd done! It made me feel great knowing I was on the right path and on the right track!

Unfortunately, I have to say this is where my working out ended. Shortly after beginning, I was diagnosed with Pleurisy (which has now been proven as COVID-19). I spent 3 weeks total gaining my lung ability back just to be able to breathe deep. Then, literally the week I planned to start again, my daughter's metal stool decided to drop right on the top of my foot! Yep, I was limping for a few weeks, and even a month later I got in the pool and could tell the bones hadn't healed yet. I was only able to do two or three workouts total. That was it! I was so upset, and I feel like I missed out on a perfect opportunity to show you all a 30 day challenge completion.

I was so sad but I had to cancel my membership this month. I was impacted by COVID-19 and one of my jobs was dead in the water. I really wish that I could've been given my free month back that I never actually got to use I only worked out two or three times! lol. I was so excited to join Whitney in this seeing as I'm a former dancer and she's a current dancer and she knows and fully understands how hard it is to move with weight.

I know I'll return to No BS Active when my finances level out. But I will say this, if you are reading this and you are plus size, and you are looking for a good workout from home where you can feel confident as you lose weight and get healthy while not feeling self-concious in the gym, go for No BS Active! Someday, I will come back, and once again try to do my 30 day challenge to myself!!
