More Than Lace: "Established" Sign Review & Giveaway!

If you are like me, you adore the beautiful home decor that is rustic and genuinely painted. Sometimes, the best and most unique works of art come from individually done work, rather than something that is manufactured multiple times over. I was given the wonderful opportunity to work with More Than Lace and review one of their Family Name Signs and now I get to show everyone!

I ended up receiving two signs, because the first one I wasn't quite sure of how it was. The sign was to read "Jon & Elizabeth GILBERT Est. September 14, 2008". This was the first one received:

I love how beautiful the coloring is with the white/silver on black. I love the stenciling on the side. The sign is not very heavy but is not a light weight piece of wood that easily splinters or breaks. There were only a couple of things that confused me such as some of the spacing, and then I saw my name. The "Z" looks like an "X" and I did ask a few people their opinion of it. Almost everyone agreed that it was an "X" and Bree was wonderful about replacing the sign. Before she created it, she sent me proofs of the fonts and more to ensure I was happy. Which told me that she would ensure that any customer would get the same satisfaction. Today, my replacement sign came in and I am using her image:

I absolutely love this one, but sadly (and no fault of the company's) the paint on the left smeared. I live in Texas so I am pretty sure that occurred due to our oh-so-desiring heat. I do not blame Bree at all because you can tell it was perfectly painted and stenciled prior to shipping. I still adore the sign, and I intend to put this one up in our bedroom over our bed. We have placed the initial one in our dining room:

It was intentional having it right there. If you look beneath it, there is not only family pictures but the one straight beneath speaks of "family" and "Chaos". It just seemed so fitting to have it right there. That and it's above our dining room table and it accents the dining room perfectly.
